▀ ▐ household name on the back of the single Satisfaction, ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ which enjoyed considerable chart success in 2003. From ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ that springboard Benny has gone on to become the first ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ non-Subliminal DJ to mix a Subliminal Sessions release, ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ gain residencies in France and London and enjoy a ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ multitude of tours worldwide including a memorable ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ first visit to Melbourne last October, when he ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ delivered the set of the night at the Godskitchen ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ event, with a hypnotic blend of tech-house and electro ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ that won him many new admirers. The feel-good factor ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ from Satisfaction has flowed on unabated. "2005 has ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ been a superb year" he admits. "Consolidating the boom ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ of 2004. I'm beginning to feel at home on a plane.... ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ and in the world's grooviest clubs..." Places that have ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ included the likes of Ibizan super-club Pacha and ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ London's legendary Turnmills. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ He's also been keeping himself busy in the studio at ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Off Limits, which has culminated in the Benassi ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Brothers follow-up album Phobia with cousin Alle. ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ "Phobia was released in France a few months back and ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ went gold... so we're really happy with that. It's now ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ coming out in countries outside Europe and that's a ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ thrill. Fingers crossed." The latest single to be taken ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ from the album sees the cousinsÆ team up once again ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ with vocalist Dhany. "We've been working with Dhany for ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ years - we being my cousin and studio partner Alle ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Benassi and myself. Our first hit record was a project ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ called KMC feat. Dhany, "I feel so fine" which went to ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ number one in the UK club charts and caused a few ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ waves. We "found" her at Off Limits, the production ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ studio in Reggio Emilia, in northern Italy where we ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ work. She introduced herself to the boss, Larry ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Pignagnoli, and got an instant contract, I think!" ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ In addition to the new album, Benny's been working his ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ remix magic on the likes of Moby, Goldfrapp, David ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ Guetta and Fischer Spooner. "I don't have any ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ favourites because my remixing policy is only to remix ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ tracks I really like by artists I like" he offers ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ thoughtfully. "It's more about quality than money. But ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ I have a soft spot for the Moby remix..." Commercial ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ success has never been his main motivation, more a ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ welcome spin-off. "It's never been an issue. We do what ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ we do. If something crosses over and becomes ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ commercial, then we uncork the champagne because we get ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ seriously overpaid! But we never set out to do ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ something "commercial" or, for that matter, ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ uncommercial." The Benassi sound is continuing to ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ evolve. "The new single - "Who's Your Daddy?" - marks a ▌ ▀
▀ ▐ departure from the classic Hypnotica sound... and we're ▌ ▀
