Although he is surely the best kept secret in
Spanish electronica scene (if we dare to call it
"electronica"), .tape. released on 2002 an album
on French label Optical Sound / Aspic , he has
collaborations all over the world ( tar100mg in
Japan, Mira Records in Germany or Mexican
Soundsister ) and tones of remixes (Phasmid,
Rainier Lericolais, Fibla, Lusan, Strand or
mou-lips!)
Without losing one bit of freshness and
luminosity, in "Paintings" (sp11cd) .tape. spins a
web of sinewaves, loops and crystal-clear
jinglings that turn this new work into the perfect
mix of outsider toy-pop, twilight melodies and
electronic lullabies , low-budget bedroom
songwriting and post-folk landscapes , where
there's even room for a (ehem) song with vocals!
Gorgeous.
