Release Notes:
After a perilous transatlantic flight in 2001, five friends decided to share
fear and elation not only at 10 000 feet, but also onstage. Thus, 'The Plane Is
On Fire' was formed and have been playing in this line-up ever since.
Some of the members had already experienced the exciting life as rockstars
through releases on the Nuremberg based record company Swing Deluxe and touring
Europe with bands like Cyan and Rain River Ocean. Others just bought their
instruments and had their only concert experience as part of the audience.
This did not keep The Plane is on Fire from releasing their debut 7'' a few
months later, telling stories about bus trips, the warm beaches of Yucatan, and
cold lecture rooms.
After the years, they dropped the musical influence of The Promise Ring that can
be heard on the debut 7'' and found a very own way to express themselves.
On the new 7'' you can hear the answer to the question: Can you combine the
humor and the charm of bands like The Van Pelt with the energy of Gang of Four,
the unique creativity of Q and not U and then bring it all to the dance floor
like The Rapture?
At the moment they are working on their debut album on Strange Fruit!
They survived car crashes, musicals and worse, and now they want to rock your
city and make you dance!
