   Northern Electronic Soul Series "Chapter Three" 01 of 11.

   The Black Dog's recent tracks get translated from the original's
   brooding intensity into coruscating intensity.

   Vince Watson translates 4 3s 555 into an extraordinary bouncing, string
   driven monster whose devastating yet delicate funk has to be heard to be
   believed. Carl Taylor puts a dirty penetrative groove over The Stele Of
   Revealing, while The Black Dog's own mix of D.O.G Style lends urgency to
   the track's melancholy.

   ------

   Rippers note: Some superb tracks here. A1 (Vince Watson's mix) is a live
   reconstruction. Unfortunately, it seems to have been compressed a little
   too much during mastering, and begins to muffle when it starts to get
   busy. A real shame, but it shouldn't distract too much from what is
   otherwise a really good mix.
