WHO:
French producers/djs Freddy McQuinn and Simbad, based in london
Started their own label Key recordings in 2000. Their music
productions span from ruff dancehall hip-hop to deep electronic
dancefloor stormers via soulful afrobeat & house. Record also under
Twitch, Heal and Les Barons (Simbad records also as Simbad, Loose
Ensemble and Mowgly).
WHAT:
Having played,worked and recorded with various artists (Tony Allen,
Mocky, Chili Gonzales, Z Star, Marque Gilmore, Talvin Singh, Keziah
Jones, Jimpster, Bugz in the Attic, Julien Lourau, Bunzi D, etc...)
they now finalizing an album for Chilli Funk Records under Marathon
Men. Dj gigs shared with Norman Jay, Groove Armada, Ross Allen,
Charlie Gillett ,Patrick Forge, Daz-I-Kue + various festivals, clubs
and parties around the world... Simbad was part of the Anokha Sound
System back in the days - Fred & Simbad have been running their
monthly nite called "JE NE SAIS QUOI" for two and a half years, being
the most successful party @Vibe Bar,Bricklane E1 (3rd Sat of the
month)
MUSIC INFLUENCES:
Jazz, 70's, funk, soul, reggae, brazilian, afro, hihop, dancehall
,house, garage, brokenbeats, techno,jungle... From Oldskoool to
Nuskool... Any tune that has soul and tells a story or rocks a
dancefloor...
