│ jason forrest / donna summer seems to be the celebrity │
│ electro-artist of the hour: featured worldwide in magazines, │
│ permanently releasing 7"es, split- and fulltime 12"es, cd-rs │
│ and cds and touring around the world, from the united states │
│ till moscow. forrest is one of the most interesting │
│ plunderphonic virtuosos, sampling, deconstructing and │
│ reconstructing for his' life, in a very energetic and powerful │
│ way. his' knowledge of musical styles such as disco and prog │
│ rock is hilarious and he perfectly uses these 70s remains for │
│ his sound explorations. but compared to former plunderphonic │
│ artists such as john oswald, jason's music makes you dance - so │
│ it has to be disco - and it definitely has to be fun ! │
│ │
│ this 7" is just one of the many 2004 d.s. releases. dive into │
│ the soundtrackish 'wooden karova', listen to what david says │
│ about his' music ("nihilistic rock..." maybe it's jason │
│ talking, not david?), realize that styx-'teen-prog' (remember │
│ styx? yes, domo origato, mr. roboto!) can be turned into │
│ breakcore without any problems, and finally craze out to the │
│ mixture of heavily distorted electric basses and │
│ four-to-the-floor r-box-beats! │
