Release Notes:

Drawing influence equally from Graham Nash and Hesiod, The Sw!ms have crafted
one of the greatest pop albums of all time, subverting the basic principles of
the genre in the process.  As Bee Thousand did over a decade earlier, Ride of
the Blueberry Winter inundates the listener with unfathomably perfect melodies
laced with impenetrably cryptic lyrics.  Indeed, why bother writing more songs
about girls when so many great songs about manticores remain unwritten?  One can
only imagine how many people Ric Ocasek would have killed for a line like "come
on everybody, put a little snack into your leg!"
Did I mention that irony is nowhere to be found?  Perhaps the keystone of this
whole thing is how sincere The Sw!ms are.  When they say they need lava, they
really do need lava.  Okay, maybe there's a bit of winking implied by titling
the most emotionally direct song on the record "Yub Yub," but who's big enough
of an asshole to call them on it?  With Ride of the Blueberry Winter, The Sw!ms
welcome you to their realm.  Come on draw the bow of Scranton!
