         █░█    KJ Rec. is proud to release Takuma Itoiæs debut    █░█
         █░█    album. Consistent with Joeæs                       █░█
         █░█    stream-of-consciousness,                           █░█
         █░█    21st century electronic aesthetic, Quietude is as  █░█
         █░█    subdued as its name suggests but rewards the       █░█
         █░█    attentive listener with detailed, shifting         █░█
         █░█    patterns and sparkling textures. While at times    █░█
         █░█    within the glitch idiom, Takuma Itoiæs work is     █░█
         █░█    decidedly more deliberate and organic than his     █░█
         █░█    peers. This might have a bit to do with Itoiæs     █░█
         █░█    musical background, as he was classically trained  █░█
         █░█    for nearly twelve years on piano. He started       █░█
         █░█    composing electronic-based music in 2001 and       █░█
         █░█    moved onto music built off processing and editing  █░█
         █░█    files on his computer in April of 2003. As a       █░█
         █░█    result of this, Quietude takes the cut-and-paste   █░█
         █░█    aesthetic of laptop composers and transforms it    █░█
         █░█    into cohesive, near-ambient compositions. The      █░█
         █░█    resulting combinations are strikingly pretty, and  █░█
         █░█    almost completely avoid dissonance. Looped         █░█
         █░█    backgrounds mesh effortlessly with slow-moving     █░█
         █░█    melodies. Ostinatos emerge and fall away with the  █░█
         █░█    hybrid machine pulse of fluids moving through an   █░█
         █░█    artificial womb. Broken sounds seem to compete     █░█
         █░█    for dominance but slowly merge until they          █░█
         █░█    suddenly seem to complement one another. Takuma    █░█
         █░█    Itoi has written lullabies suitable for soothing   █░█
         █░█    the space-sickness of newborn cosmonauts: let      █░█
         █░█    this be the soundtrack to your stasis chamber,     █░█
         █░█    too.                                               █░█
