This is part 3 of the 3 album trilogy.
Part 1 was Elephant Garden, Part 2 was Bees Will Bumble.
Terry Eason is on one helluva roll, recording three albums in the
last three years. This is a 2005 release, Virtually a one man
band, Eason throws catchy riffs and hooks into his lo-fi blend of
`60s psychedelia, `70s aggro, proggy rock and `90s indie guitar
pop, all of it surprisingly affecting. The hooks may not fly fast
and furious, but like some of Jeremy Morris` more esoteric stuff,
you`ll be able to find something in here for your soul. If members
of The Replacements, Dumptruck, Guided By Voices, The Polyphonic
Spree, Cleaners From Venus (Martin Newell) and Dramarama got
together to jam out with Neil Young and Crazy Horse, it might
sound something like this! He multi-layers lots of sweet vocal
harmonies in a very genteel kind of way. This vocal delight is
interspaced with many layers of Neil Young style guitars. The
music is disciplined and never grunge, staying true to the pop
format. In this context, the sound is unique and groundbreaking
for pop music. The lyrics are often sureal and yet connected
telling stories of broken relationship and struggle. This cd also
sends a strong message that pop-art is alive and well! Part 3 of
his "Elephant Bee-Fly" zoological trilogy, by the way. Very Highly
Recommended! (notlame.com)
