Release Notes:

No ones going to replace Chris Whitley or Townes Van
Zandt or Blaze Foley. But there are young artists
(many of them in Austin) that are struggling to get
heard. Colin Brooks is one such Austin artist. It's
not like he's some unknown either as he has won the
Kerrville New Folk award and been a recipient of the
SESAC's most promising new artist scholarship.

But it's probably the experience of playing with,
and I imagine hanging out, with Toni Price, Will
Sexton and Hal Ketchum that really is propelling his
songwriting and playing forward. His sparse sound on
his new record Blood and Water and the heartfelt
tale of a father and his young daughters death in
"Blood On The Water" are chilling reminders of what
one person can do with a guitar, voice and one hell
of a song.
