Breakin' Bread bring us this six track sampler for Natural Self's upcoming CD
only album of the same name. As well as the five tracks taken from the CD, you
also get an exclusive Nostalgia 77 rework of "To The Sun". With a sound rooted
in hip hop, funk, jazz, Latin and African music, his tracks have a slow-burning,
percussive, lo-fi feel to them, coming across like 70s avant-jazz meeting some
of Moondog's more charming moments, and utilize the help of various live
musicians, including Quantic Soul Orchestra's hornsman John Styles.
