Notenshun are Lofty and Werner Niedermeier and no strangers to this pages. You
may remember their remixes for Ultra NatΘÆs Feel Love or their own Soul Music
and Unfinished Business. The latter two are also featured on this nice
collection of soulful and jazzy house cuts. As the tracklisting shows Notenshun
donÆt rely on the latest, hippest records but on an inspiring blend of almost
classic cuts like Jody WatleyÆs Photographs or Kim EnglishÆs CÆest La Vie and
soon to be released cuts like NotenshunÆs own Lyrical Flight or their rework of
Nathan HainesÆs U See That (the original appeared on the Chilli Funk release
Squire For Hire). If youÆre into vocal house then this is the first compilation
of 2006 you should get. Here you get the powerful voices of Tommy Blaize (Takin
U Back) and Diamond Temple (I Never Knew, by the way with backing vocals by
veteran soul group Ray, Goodman and Brown) together with Paul Randolph (This
Means That). Unfortunately not included on the promo copy IÆve got is the second
CD with ten mouth-watering and exclusive songs. So I canÆt say anything about
Phil AsherÆs remix of Roy AyerÆs Brand New Feeling or NotenshunÆs Fuel In The
Fire (again with Sandy Mill who seems to become NotenshunÆs in-house singer)
except that I wanna have them!

Features a sassy combination of lovingly selected cutting edge jazz tinged
Soulful House gems, ranging from old classics to brand new unreleased tracks..
As with the first release the release is available on double CD and limited
edition double vinyl. The CD package consists of a Mix CD û put together by
Werner Niedermeier and Lofty for Notenshun/Chillifunk û and a bonus Unmixed CD.
Whereas the first album concentrated on tracks from New YorkÆs legendary West
End label, this time respected jazz house logo Chillifunk supply back catalogue
anthems, unreleased tracks pulled from the vaults as well as brand new
recordings. Also included are in-demand suSU classics and hot new tracks from
outside labelsà

Standout tracks include Phil AsherÆs awesome remix of Roy Ayers jazz-funk anthem
ôBrand New Feelingö, the latest Deep House offering from New JerseyÆs en vogue
Phuture Soul label ôI Never Knewö û 280 West Presents Diamond Temple (which
features veteran soul trio Ray, Goodman & Brown aka The Moments on backing
vocals), ChillifunkÆs awesome new recording ôFuel In The Fireö by Notenshun
featuring Sandy Mill and a world exclusive from Mr A.L.I ôThat Feelingö which is
set to be acclaimed a jazz in the house classic.
