Aquiles Baez is an extraordinary Venezuelan musician, guitarist and
Latin American strings player, arranger and composer. His
innovative style using Latin American rhythms and sophisticated
harmonies create a unique sound.
Baez, with five recordings as a leader under his belt, has
collaborated with artists including; Paquito de Rivera, Farred
Haque, John Patitucci, Ilan Chester, Mike Marshall and Giora
Feidman. Aquiles has also appeared in concerts with Ensemble
Gurrufio, Simon Diaz, Worlds of Guitars, The Boston Symphony and
the Simon Bolivar Orchestras and most recently toured with Osvaldo
Goligov's Grammy nominated "La Pasion segun San Marco". Other
projects include "Calle 54" a documentary film by Fernando Trueba
and two Grammy nominated records by pianist.
This album it's a reinterpretation of many traditional songs by
Aquilez Baez togheter with the exceptional Tenor singer Aquilez
Machado, recorded live at the Artevision Study (Universidad Simon
Bolivar, Caracas). a really interesting and a high elaborated work.
