Paul Murphy, international man of mystery, DJ Legend and heavy heavy producer!
His new 12" due out in March is frankly the phattest wax released in months. On
'Seven Samurai' he takes the dirtiest bassline to underpin spooky horn riffs and
solos and boom bap drums. The overall effect is very filmic and somehow quite
scary, I could imagine this as the soundtrack to a new style vampire flick!
Refuge lies on the flip with 'Budapest Chachacha', a more recognisable mambo
rhythm stuffed full of etheral soundscapes and solid percussion. Featuring vibes
from Acid Jazz legend Roger Beaujolais and psyched out vocals from Hungarian
Secta Chameleon (what a name!), this is such an epic piece of music.
