Release number six on Compost's Black Label, and it brings us a pair of tracks
from two talented Asian producers. 'Kholi' is a Hindi word decribing a room used
for special Indian dancing, the so-called 'Murja', and "Kholi Number", from
Brahmasonic, is truly a track made for dancing to - jazz breaks meets subtle
tabla percussion meets tripped-out synths. On the flipside "Water Samba", by
Japan's Keisuke Suzuki, mixes up loose samba rhythms with sparkling key lines
and a fat acidic dancehall bassline punch.
Asia is making impact on Compost: It brings you two new talents from India and
Japan. It starts with "Kholi Number" from Brahmasonic. "Kholi Number" is truly a
track that is made for dancing. A jazzy, oriental monster track, that letÆs you
remember the old school Eightball days. On the flipside comes "Water Samba" from
Keisuke Suzuki, a trippy experience somewhere between Jazz and Hip Hop. It
begins with a clumsy Samba beat and ends with a phat sub bass. Techjazz at its
best!
