         █░█    So some of tracks lead into the next but not       █░█
         █░█    enough that i thought a .cue was worthwhile.       █░█

         █░█    Being a reviewer is like being a gold miner. I     █░█
         █░█    get to sift through all the dull rock (albums) in  █░█
         █░█    an effort to find gold. And find gold, I have.     █░█
         █░█                                                       █░█
         █░█    Within ...And We Shall Call Him Joseph, Hypatia    █░█
         █░█    Lake seamlessly merges elements of noisy shoegaze  █░█
         █░█    a la Slowdive, the electronic textures of M83,     █░█
         █░█    weirdo-pop via Mercury Rev, organically            █░█
         █░█    psychedelic elements similar to Pink Floyd, and    █░█
         █░█    woefully emotional vocals reminiscent of Arcade    █░█
         █░█    Fire's Win Butler. Simultaneously, the album is    █░█
         █░█    familiar yet new, eclectic yet cohesive. Moods,    █░█
         █░█    textures, atmospheres - it's all here, and it is   █░█
         █░█    all written extremely well.                        █░█
         █░█                                                       █░█
         █░█    Those familiar with the band's debut, Your         █░█
         █░█    Universe, Your Mind, are probably not surprised    █░█
         █░█    that this is a concept album. The debut was about  █░█
         █░█    Hypatia Lake, a fictional town, and its            █░█
         █░█    inhabitants. The follow-up focuses on one          █░█
         █░█    particular individual named Joseph Bigsby. In      █░█
         █░█    short, it focuses on the events throughout         █░█
         █░█    Bigsby's life that lead to him instigating a       █░█
         █░█    rebellion at the town candy factory in which he    █░█
         █░█    works. Not into concept albums? No worries, the    █░█
         █░█    concept is very loose and does not interfere with  █░█
         █░█    the music.                                         █░█
         █░█                                                       █░█
         █░█    It is still early in 2006, but I can confidently   █░█
         █░█    say this album will certainly be near the top of   █░█
         █░█    my end-of-the-year list. This album is musically   █░█
         █░█    creative, emotionally cleansing, and wholly        █░█
         █░█    engrossing. It's poppy enough to keep your         █░█
         █░█    attention, but spacious and psychedelic enough to  █░█
         █░█    soak it in and melt away.                          █░█
