▀ ▀ ▀
Born of parents from Alabama, Keak was brought to Oakland at six
months of age. His mother was a professional DJ, and he grew up
surrounded by music and influential older siblings.
He found popularity and an ability with words while attending
Allendale Elementary School, which he parlayed into later friendships
and talent show performances at Oakland's Brett Harte Junior High. It
was there he met later collaborator Aggerman. Together, they formed
Dual Committee. By the end of his 11th grade year, they had added
rapper B.A. to form the group 3XKrazy, which signed to Virgin records,
releasing the album Stackin' Chips in 1997. Citing the personal growth
of all three artists, he later signed as a solo artist with Sacramento-
based Moe Doe records as a solo artist. At this point, Keak began to
get more radio airplay (although his lyrics were no longer clean),
especially on San Francisco station KMEL.
Keak is now is gaining notoriety beyond the Bay Area with his recent
song "Super Hyphy" (2005)And His Song "High Speed Specialist"
Featuring E-40 (1998).
Keak largely produces the orginal versions of the beats used in his
songs, noting that he writes a song, lyrics and all, togther. He
currently is living on what he describes as a farm outside of
Sacramento with his family, which he says helps him focus on his
children.
He is also featured on E-40's track "Tell Me When To Go."
This release features the hit song "Super Hyphy" on the Label it was
suposed to be released on. Other noteable songs on the cd are "T-Shirt
Blue Jeans & Nike's Number 2," "Town Business" and "Lookin At Booty"
Featuring Cellski.
Enjoy!
