│ Winter 1989. It was the beginning of a new │
│ era, cramped in a tiny bedroom in Brooklyn, │
│ we all had a common purpose, to ignite the │
│ new found dance floors of England. The U.K. │
│ House scene had blown up and we all had a │
│ jump-start of something that changed every │
│ one of us. Welcome to Volume 2 from the Nu │
│ Groove vault. From the original masters I │
│ have selected and sequenced the best "trax" │
│ that helped shape a new generation of people │
│ dancing to a House groove till early morning. │
│ The rave scene was out of control with many │
│ events drawing up to 30,000 people in fields │
│ outside of London. This compilation │
│ represents how all the producers on this CD │
│ made our own style of underground music, how │
│ we embraced the dance floors of Europe, and │
│ we all pioneered the early Techno-House │
│ sound. These tracks were very experimental │
│ for the American dance floor in 89/90 but │
│ wound up shaping the future for DJs │
│ worldwide. Nu Groove will always be │
│ remembered for putting out excellent N.Y. │
│ House music but you will see after listening │
│ that there was a lot of sounds that were │
│ brand new when they were released. These │
│ tracks followed no formula which makes them │
│ very special. I'm glad that I was part of it │
│ all and that Hot Productions gave me the │
│ chance to take the past, and reshape the │
│ future all over again. I had the time of my │
│ life during these days as did many who appear │
│ on this compilation and a lot has happened │
│ since then. Nu Groove paved the way for the │
│ underground producers and shaped the mold for │
│ labels like Strictly Rhythm and Nervous, │
│ which have taken over the American market. │
│ Call it Techno, call it House but whatever │
│ you call it remember that every track was │
│ what slowly, but surely evolved into what │
│ your dancing... today. Keep dancing and I'll │
│ see you when the ball drops in the year 2000. │
  │ │

│ SOUR has been releasing good quality drum'n'bass, jungle & oldskool │
│ rips to the internet drum'n'bass public since summer 1999. Originally a │
│ small operation, we have now reached levels of international acclaim. │
  │ │

│ SWEET is dedicated to both the availability and promotion of music to │

│ . SWEET is dedicated to the expansion and infiltration of breakbeat │
│ music worldwide! We provide a service where none is available, │
│ specifically in many remote countries where traditional distributors │
│ can not afford to target. Also, the availability of breakbeat music │
│ in an easily accessible form expands the potential for real world │
│ sales to people who may not otherwise have considered buying this │
  │ kind of music. │

│ . SWEET is dedicated to the expansion of the online and offline real │
│ world scenes. With more listeners enjoying what they hear, clubs and │
│ venues can only expect MORE people to attend events; DJ's can only │
│ expect MORE people to pay to see THEM. │
  │ │
│ By accident of today's current real world distribution arrangements, │
│ many artists will find that SWEET releases IMPROVE their real world │
│ sales; especially for items only on vinyl. This is the basis upon │
  │ which SWEET operates. │
