. Not content with supplying us with what must surely be .
. counted as the finest release to date on the mighty Trapez .
. label (the Silkcome EP under the Scsi 9 moniker), Russia’s .
. Anton Kubikov returns once again and stampedes over our .
. preconceptions with 4 tracks of the most beautiful .
. beatless/soul music this side of Eric Satie. A bit of a .
. one-off this, rarely is music this flavour materialised .
. with as much vision : a rolling flow of static twitches, .
. distant piano motif’s and weaves of multicoloured sonic .
. beauty that’s incredibly hard to describe and crushingly .
. easy to daydream to. The opening ‘Special Communications’ .
. achieves this with most loveliness and ease, unusual and .
. somehow evocative of so many lost songs and voices, if .
. only music like this could be turned to formula people’s .
. lives would be enriched with a soundtrack worthy of the .
. most memorable life-affirming moments. As it is, Anton .
. re-writes the book and we can only hope that others will .
. follow. ‘Last Focus Befor Sleep’ spans across the whole of .
. the flip – more treatments in shards of sound and colour : .
