Apparently, Mr. Cobra here may have been a paid informant working for the
DEA. These are the claims put forth by 'Oakland' Stone Ramsey (manager of
many well-known Bay Area artists throughout the 90s to early 00's, CEO of
Handlebar Records [International Blunt Funk compilation], and
thrice-convicted cocaine distributor).
Allegedly, Cobra was on the payroll of the DEA, who at the time were eyeing
rappers from the Bay on suspicion of using record labels and video shoots
as a front to launder drug money. According to Mr. Ramsey, the DEA funded
the production of Cobra's album as a ploy for him to get into the inner
circle - including paying $15,000 up-front just for the Dru Down feature.
'Oakland' Stone lays it all out in a video interview posted to YouTube at
the end of August. He goes into great detail about this as well as many
other things -- it's a great interview. That guy led a crazy life! If

If it's true, you can't tell from the record. Cobra can rap -- and this CD
is fuckin TIGHT!! Especially the track w/Dru Down. It was considered a Bay
