Release Notes:
There once was a time when compilation CD's meant something other than cheap,
promotional throwaways lining the parking lots of the Warped Tour. A time when
like-minded artists and record labels would collaborate simply as a means to
celebrate the diversity of their collective talents and share their sounds with
one another's listeners as an organic way of getting their music heard. With the
"It Came From The Hills" compilation series, Magic Bullet Records and friends
from around the world are attempting to recapture the simplicity and purity of
yesteryear, long before MySpace, aesthetic-based Cyclops Rock, and whoring
yourself out in hopes of impressing 15 year olds. Featured on volume one are:
STEPHEN BRODSKY (of CAVE IN), FORENSICS, PAUL MICHEL, EARTHEN SEA (ex BLACK
EYES), LIGHT YOURSELF ON FIRE (ex REVERSAL OF MAN), AUGHRA (mem. of FORENSICS,
ex CORN ON MACABRE), NITRO TOKYO (mem. of DARKEST HOUR), JINXED AT TWELVE, THIS
WILL DESTROY YOU, TEPHRA, TAINT, and SNOWBLOOD. A visually and aurally stunning
treat that should hope to remind fans of independent music everywhere what's
most important at the end of the day.
