"Clapz" (SK068) is the first Studio R EP on Sonar Kollektiv. It comes
along with 3 thick additional mixes that are some kind of, yea.. you
can say slamming monsters. After having released the incredible SLOPE
Remix on the "Sonar Kollektiv 4" EP (SK069), we now present to you
the original at last! It kicks with 80's flavour Hip Hop styles that
sound damn thick and crisp and embed the laid back flows of Gonzales
homie MOCKY. The sharp cuts are brought to you by the always busy
SHIRKHAN, known all over the world for his eclectic Booty Bass
Electro Sets and famous in Berlin for his show "Dope On Plastic" on
the former pirate radio station "Twen FM".
The Remixes presented here are all done by Studio R's peeps.
We start with LEROY & DARNELL that are going to release an EP on
Trickski's "Members Of The Trick" - series on SK in April '06 (watch
out for that!). They love to make it bang in every very part of the
track. Heavy bass explosions are playfully placed on the stumbling
beat. This bass is hell and therefore your friend at once. Check that
buddies!!
Don't think there's time to breathe, PHILIPP SUPREME comes along like
Pistol Pete in his best days. Yes, he plays Hard Court style, serving
a winner! The mix starts with a ravy saw tooth bass of the most evil
kind o Get uppa, it's player's night! No waltzing and stuff, it's
jumping!! Philipp, member of Berlin's RAKETEN, has dropped a Miami
Bass pusher that ends up in a furious sirene final leaving everybody
behind, shaking.
And then, it's TRICKSKI. They deliver what they are famous for. After
having made great furore with their Sonar Kollektiv EP "Sweat /
Sunshine F**k" (SK063) in 2005 they played many spots with their
outrageous DJ Sets and steadied their fame, while they were enlarging
it. Of course it's cowbelling again and it's bouncing as we love it!
Daniel and Yannick, these guys are special. You can nearly see them
enjoying the play with this minimalistic rhythm they made up. Once
again this is an ace! Thank you.
