Speedometer drop another cooking 45 of blasting horns, stuttering bass and James
Brown-flavoured grooves. Flip for the quirky rhythms and vintage swagger of
'Dapper Dan'.
Inspired by the deep funk sound of the late 60's and early 70's, Speedometer
started as a funk quartet in 1997 playing tunes primarily by The Meters. In 1998
they worked with James Taylor Quartet and expanded their line-up to include a
percussionist and horn section and wrote their own material to the form the band
it is today.
