│ Last year, Scion went on a quest to find the best DJs in America │
│ with the 2nd annual Free Up Your Mix DJ Contest. The winner │
│ emerged from indie hip-hop hotbed Oakland, California in the │
│ form of DJ duo The Oakland Faders, who mixed this latest Scion │
│ CD Sampler, v.12. Since 1995, the Faders have held it down with │
│ a highly original yet genuine Bay Area style and have shown the │
│ hip-hop world that Oakland can represent with the best of them. │
│ │
│ They've shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the │
│ game, such as M.F. Doom, Maseo, Madlib, and Mixmaster Mike, and │
│ headlined shows from San Francisco to South Africa to Iceland │
│ and back. The dynamic duo of DJ Spair and DJ Platurn have │
│ distinguished themselves as sure-shot purveyors of that funk you │
│ can't live without. │
