Simon Finn originally issued "Pass the Distance" on Mushroom
Label in 1970. This is an excellent follow-up for the confused
and grieving minds of this generation.

Listen closely to the lyrics for "Walkie Talkie". This is the
true first song of this album. It brings up the central
illustration of the despair and loneliness of this generation,
how we have lost our way. "Magic Moments" follows with the
question of what exactly it is we've been seeking and
     unfortunately have lost our way.

Finn lightens up the mood a bit on the next track with "Wanted
You," a quest for love which parallels the quest for the Holy
Grail on "Magic Moments." Will he be able to offer solutions
to the original question posed in "Walkie Talkie?"

He brings the original broad question down to a more human
level with the illustration of the life of "Malcolm." This
theme continues with "A Cinder's Prayer", leading up to "Gypsy
Man." The illuminating conclusion of "Golden Golden" breathes
hope into the possibility of reaching the Holy Grail.

A wonderful folk album for our time, a clear illustration that
folk music can remain a useful tool for our present young
questioning minds. We must not believe ourselves stuck!
