     R E L E A S E   N O T E S	 ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

caracterizado a Tiger Army.

nuevos horizontes.

Ritchie Valens y Chuck Berry.

When the 20th century was about to come to an end, a trio stormed
the sunny city of Los Angeles. Tiger Army name, the most
characteristic was his style that sounded like many things but at
the same time had a particular stamp. The members themselves would
confirm years later that the punkabilly label was the one they felt
     most comfortable with.

It has been more than two decades since the combo first stepped on
the stage and despite all the setbacks, it remains standing. The
road has not been easy, so separations and prolonged breaks have
been a constant throughout this time.

Now, in full 2019, the Californian trident presents its new
material. The truth is that for some years the project has ceased to
be a true group in which democracy prevails. Now it's about the band
Nick 13, the guitarist and the only original member that remains.

Published by Rise Records, the album features 13 songs in which the
combination of aggressiveness and melody that has characterized
Tiger Army is maintained. They are hard songs but at the same time
easy to remember and sing. Friendly choirs and rhythm handling have
     been their ultimate virtue.

But if there is a novelty with respect to the past is the
incorporation of sounds that, apparently, seem alien to punk. As
never before heard references to the country and some winks to the
western. What is clear is that Nick 13 is no longer a twenties and
all the knowledge accumulated throughout his career seems to want to
     reflect it in his work.

On the other hand, it is not that there is a radical change of
sound. The accelerated songs starring the double bass remain
present. The difference is that now the trio opens up to new
horizons. Now in addition to showing idolatry by The Meteors,
Nekromantix and Misfits there are also parts that remind Hank
Williams and the compositions that Ennio Morricone made for Sergio
     Leone's films.

As if it were a film, the material opens with "Prelude: Tercio de
Muerte", an instrumental piece that slowly advances in speed. It
seems to be a feature of all trident albums start this way. To the
sum of drums-guitar-double bass are added some spatial sounds that
seek to replicate an alien abduction.

In turn, in "Devil That You Don't Know", the first single that broke
off from work, a notorious reference to the early 50's rock and roll
is heard. The spirit of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and Chuck Berry
is present . Instead, "Death Card" shows another face of the sound
polyhedron that dominates Tiger Army by bringing back the
accelerated psychobilly of its beginnings. But when it comes to
surprises, the biggest one is ôMi amor la Lunaö, a melancholy piece
sung in perfect Spanish that invites introspection.

Unlike the first works of the band in which there was a dominant
sound, now a greater musical wealth is appreciated. By incorporating
more styles, new territories have been reached, which is beneficial
for attracting new fans, but can be counterproductive for
     psychobilly purists.
     Por Rodrigo Rojas.

     TIGER ARMY NEVER DIES!!

     Enjoy =>
