Collabs 401 is the follow up to the first studio
collaboration (Collabs 400) between Speedy J and one of
France's great production talents and ex-half of The
Micronauts, George Issakidis.
A1) Overblaak - Speedy J and George Issakidis shift the
familiar codes of acid house to descend into a place
slower and druggier than we've yet known: organic synths
fly high above an extremely infectious 3/4 acid bassline
and clipped analog rhythms, everything working its way
for collision into very heavy dub madness! The dark
warehouse days are back!!!
AA1) Kaalbrevo - Kaalbrevo, the alter ego of A1, sees
Speedy J and Issakidis sending the 303 line into an even
deeper, more distorted state, rising to give into
beautiful phased atmospherics. Slow, hard and tripped
out.
Additional info: on the A, there are some cracks
(00:30-00:37). They are neither scratches nor skips,
seems like it's a flawed pressing. Sorry, did my best!
