             Taylor Torrence explodes onto to the scene with his debut double 
             A-side release on Freegrant's progressive trance imprint, Big 
             Toys Production.
              
             Inspired from epics such as the Lord of the Rings and evoking 
             tales of eras long past, 'Ryu' sets the stage with a cinematic 
             scene. As distant bells toll, a beautifully haunting piano motif 
             rises from a damp fog. A brassy, syncopated lead melody rings 
             out above the haze before igniting into a rumbling groove that 
             builds toward an emotive second intermission.
              
             Representing Taylor's 2017 return from the hectic chaos of New 
             York City to his native California, 'Westward' drops into a 
             frenetic first section, driven by buzzing synths and a 
             percussive arpeggio. From a deep breakdown emerges a nostalgic 
             melody, underscored by a punchy drumline snare that explodes 
             into a chord progression that feels just like coming home.
