Genesis met the fluxus rooted artist John
Armleder in 1974 via mail art. Since that
friendship began John Armleder has published
a Limited Edition book ôG.P.O. v G.P-Oö to
raise money for court costs resulting from
fines for Genesis sending collaged Queen
postcards deemed legally ôindecentö in 1975.
Over the years theyÆve remained close. It was
John that exhibited the artist BREYER
P-ORRIDGE at the Basle Art Fair, Switzerland
in 2002 and 2004. About the same time John
began an ART record label called VILLA MAGICA
to realise his obsessions and ironic musical
tastes. Namely he collects xmas records and
his label ONLY releases CHRISTMAS records,
whether conceptual, kitsch or literal. In
2004 John Armleder invited Genesis P-Orridge
to contribute a Christmas record to Villa
Magica. The result was a VERY LIMITED EDITION
vinyl album ( ALREADY SOLD OUT! Its 300
copies) and a CD ( Limited to only 500
copies!). This CD ôMARY NEVER WANTED JESUSö
by GENESIS P-ORRIDGE and THEE MAJESTY is now
available whilst limited stocks last . The CD
has 10 tracks. FIVE previously NEVER released
and 5 truly revisited, re-mixed favourites
devoured by BRYIN DALLÆs engineering skills!
Lady Jaye has contributed a surreal, twisted
childrenÆs story ô I LIKE THEE HOLIDAYSö.
G.P-O, Edley, Lady Jaye and Bryin created
ôMary Never Wanted Jesusö; thereÆs a bizarre
blues ôCALL ME BLUESö and the strangest hip
hop remix of Charlie MansonÆs ôAlways Is
Alwaysö to name but a few. Fabian Lloyd wrote
the sleeve notes and the whole item is
beautifully packaged in Morrisson EdleyÆs
Thee Majesty design with a brand new collage
by Genesis. Weep and pray if you hesitate and
miss this miraculous parable of womenÆs
rights!
