the politik is the all new super group collaborative unit
featuring bembΘ seguΘ and mark de clive-lowe. the duo's
collaborations have already been well documented on wax - from
mdcl's tide's arising lp (abb soul/antipodean/columbia japan feat
state of the mental, heaven, syndrome and more) to the cosmic afro
jazz soundtrack legends of the underground (kindred spirits) and
live on mdcl's tide's arising live shows and improv clubnite
freesoul sessions. bembΘ has lent her vocal skills to mdcl's
forthcoming remixes for chico hamilton (impulse) and jaguar wright
(artemis).
the politik is a next level production and writing unit - the new
single money (don't let it catch ya) is the first taste of what's
to come. an afro-broken soul anthem it's already hot in the box on
cdr for benji b, dego, phil asher, afronaught and a very select
few more. the politik album is in progress, due to be completed
early 2006 and already sounding like another classic new school
soul album along the lines of what we've come to expect from both
mdcl and bembΘ.
