About Obsqure:
Youssef aka Ucef is a Tunisian multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ
residing in Doha, Qatar.
He produces music that could be loosely described as cinematic electronica,
but his roots are in Trip hop, ambient and chillout. His compositions are a
fusion of live instrumentation and electronic production.
By demonstrating the omnipresent lingering of a `musical world', Obsqure
often creates work using creative sound tactics, His artworks demonstrate how
life extends beyond its own subjective limits and often tells a story about
the effects of global cultural interaction over the latter half of the
twentieth century.
In a search for new methods to `read the city' and please the listener, he
focuses on the idea of `public space `and `world sounds' and more specifically
on spaces where anyone can do anything at any given moment
His works are characterized by the use of everyday sounds in an atmosphere of
an open mind mentality in which recognition plays an important role. By taking
daily life instruments as subject matter, his works could be loosely described
as cinematic electronica, but his roots are in Trip hop, ambient and chillout.
His compositions are a fusion of live instrumentation and electronic
production.
