'once twice' is reminiscent of the subtly dizzy heights reached by
maws nervous track - a deft coupling of live instrumentation, rare
groove feel, and mastery of their machines, to once again define
their calmly assured genius. 'sounds like' shows the flipside of
the bugz coin, using some heavy bottom end and p-funk twists to
carve a more straight up floorshaker - a rude dj tool that in the
right hands will slay many a winters' dancefloor at 100 paces.
unquestionably the sound of the funk for 2006. next year will
witness a debut studio album from bugz, their first original
material since 2004 smash booty la la which managed to galvanise
clubland and mainstream radio alike.
