Opening their account with a Harvey rework of Herman Kelly's much
sampled 70s disco-funk track "Dance To The Drummer's Beat", Frank
Tope and Dean Rudland's OST imprint instantly became an essential
label to check for must-have edits of classics and hidden gems. Six
years later the label has collected together the best of the OST
edits so far, and thrown in a few classic non-OST ones too.
Included are the aforementioned Harvey edit, Ashley and Asher
reworking Patti Jo (including an instrumental), Touche cutting up
Banbarra's original b-boy breaks, Tim 'Love' Lee going to town with
Ray Baretto's anthem "Soul Drummers", Norman Cook doing the do with
Family Tree's "Family Tree" (one he sampled for a Mighty Dub Kats
tune), Nuphonic's Fug taking Minnie Riperton's "Les Fleur" on a
gospel-delic trip, recent takes on Wood Brass And Steel's
"Funkanova", George Mcrae's "Lifted" and much more.
