        :: Release Notes:
        ::
        :: Considered by many to be the origin of humankind, it comes as
        :: no surprise that there are few, if any, other continents that
        :: have such a diverse and important musical heritage as Africa.
        :: This compilation dips its toe into exploring how this music
        :: has filtered into the productions of today's more adventurous
        ::  recording artists.
        ::
        :: The 'Beginner's Guide' features artists with crossover
        :: success, such as Zero 7 and Masters At Work, as well as the
        :: left-sided underground sounds of hotly tipped producers like
        :: Recloose and Solid Groove. Elsewhere, more established
        :: African artists, such as Salif Keita and Femi Kuti also
        :: feature, but are given a new lease of life with remixes from
        :: Osunlade and Da Lata respectively; and the future of African
        :: music is in the mix too, with Lekan Babalola, Kokolo, and
        :: Swedish afro-beaters Rameses Revolution also turning up the
        :: heat and keeping the spirit of the drum alive.
        ::
