Release Notes:
Friction was born in Bordeaux, France, in æ92, and
was at first influenced by bands like PUSSY GALORE,
THE FALL, SONIC YOUTH and WEEN. Between 1994 and
1997, Friction played about 50 shows under various
formations from 3 to 5 members, opening for bands
like DOO RAG, HALF JAPANESE, TRUMANS WATER, THE
MAKE UP etc... The band decided to take a break in
æ98 to experiment side projects and home studio
recordings, until æ02 when the original trio
reformed in Paris. Friction is originally a
guitar/bass/drums combo, now enriched with an old
Casio beat box and a Korg sequencer. This new
line-up stands for their taste for electronic
music, while staying punk and intuitive. They
toured this year with Trumans Water in Belgium and
France and opened for !!! (Tchick Tchick Tchick).
They are currently recording new songs in studio.
