NOTE: The complete title of this cd is:
"If The World Were Turned On Its Head, We Would Walk
Among The Stars"
mp3releaser didn't allow me to put all the title but
just a part of it, therefor folder's name doesn't
contain the full name.
The new CD by Mark Jenkins includes three lengthy
tracks of strong dark ambient and electronic rock
music. Fusing the powerful rhythms and sequences of the
"Sequencer Loops" and "Space Dreams" series with a more
epic feel and darker sensibility, the album represents
a huge stride in synthesizer technology, creating the
massive sound of stacked modular and analog
synthesizers using the very latest virtual techniques.
Launched with live performances in the UK and USA, "If
The World..." captures the power and energy of
artists as diverse as Klaus Schulze, Steve Roach,
Heldon, Tangerine Dream and Jean-Michel Jarre at the
height of their powers. If you only buy one synth music
CD this year, you owe it to yourself to hear "If The
World Were Turned On Its Head, We Would Walk Among The
Stars".
CD REVIEW
"The latest CD by Mark Jenkins is an unashamed "Berlin
School" album. Full of pulsating sequencer lines,
rippling arpeggios, soaring leads and space fx, it is a
heady brew. What is slightly different about this album
however is that it is entirely composed (with the
exception of some guitar) using virtual instrument
technology. The inside sleeve shows Mark sitting with
his very impressive collection of vintage synths, but
the CD notes tell us that the album was created using
computer plug-ins, including many designed to emulate
old analogue gear, the Arturia Moog Modular and CS80v
plugins to name but two".
"All the classic 70's electronic sounds are here: Track
1 "If The World Were Turned On Its Head..." is a
veritable feast of sequencing, arpeggiators, percussion
lines, spacey leads, fx, and builds and changes
throughout its mammoth twenty-five minute length. This
is a great album with loads to get your teeth into..."
