Release Notes:

This new CD, self-titled "Tom Brosseau," marks the
release of previously out-of-print songs from Tom's
2001 self-promoted "The Blue Record." He sold
through the initial pressing by singing door to door
- literally - and selling the CDs at shows. These
songs, originally recorded at Gregory Page's home
studio, have been re-mastered and are now
accompanied by 5 bonus tracks. The bonus tracks
consist of 3 tracks from Tom's recording sessions
with Gregory Page, circa 2001. Another bonus track,
Used to Own a Rowing Boat, is a previously
unreleased song from the "What I Mean To Say Is
Goodbye" recordings with Sam Jones. The last song,
The Young and the Free, is a live recording from
KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic. View the full track
list here.

Plus, we have a live version of Rose, a song off of
this new release, available for free download. This
song was recorded at Twigg's in San Diego in 2002.

This release also has new, extended liner notes from
both Tom and Gregory Page. Here's an excerpt where
Gregory describes the first time he heard Tom:

"we suddenly heard the sweet sounds of a
beautiful woman's voice, singing out in the main
room. I jumped up, opened the door, and saw that it
was a dude singing. The room was still and no one
blinked while this tall figure up on stage sang and
yodeled. It was as if time went backward and we had
all tuned into an old-fashioned radio program from
the 1930s. I didn't meet him that night but I left
Joe's thinking about him. Who was he? Where did he
come from? Perhaps this person is an old soul who
had unfinished business on earth."
