Two years after his first release, IKEN returns with a new 3 track EP
that showcases the man's love for deep and atmospheric house grooves.
The title track 'Aspects' features a downtempo and warped sounding
disco workout accompanied by odd keys and tinged with fresh hi-hats.
The second track 'In Touch' is very dreamlike - funky & filtered with a
deep rolling bassline make this one right for any time of the night.
Deep and mysterious sounds welcome you into the third track 'December
Spring'. The sounds and elements of this track closely relate to the
title of the track, light and summerish sounds coax a lush backdrop of
frozen, isolated sounds and synths that draw you into a daze.
On the bonus 7" we are treated to two tracks that highlight IKEN's more
techno-influenced side. First up is 'Mind's Eye' a deep funker with a
long drawn synth to keeps things nice n' warm and leaves you wanting
more and more. The final track 'Close Range' is a more spacious and
irregular journey compared to the previous tracks. Taking on a more
serious groove, 'Close Range' is perhaps the deepest track of them all
here, enticing elements and solid production techniques leave the
listener locked deep in state of mind :)
