                                    RELEASE NOTES

After years of struggling in the chaotic Chicano punk
movement of the early nineties, in February of 1997
the Lomar brothers finally put together their most
creative and ambitious project ôCuranderosö. Although
the band had already been experimenting with
               traditional Latin-American sounds, Curanderos
incorporated all Spanish lyrics and poetry. Lured by
the success of such bands as Jaguares and Mana,
CuranderosÆ first album went on to achieve as much
local club and radio airplay as that of their signed
counterparts in less than a year. Released in the
summer of 1998, their self-titled EP sold over 6,000
copies in Los Angeles alone. Independent record store
Music Exchange (Glendale, CA) declared the EP one of
their most popular independent releases ever.

Motivated by the success of their first release,
Curanderos decide to quickly move forward with the
release of their second independent production. Before
a packed El Rey Theater, Curanderos released the
powerful, but melancholy ôAntes Que Duermaö (Before I
Sleep) in November of 1999. Though not as popular as
their first EP, the album finally got Curanderos the
critical acclaim they had not received previously. The
highest recognition had come from La Banda Elastica
               (LBE), Latin-AmericaÆs most important Alternative
Latin Rock magazine. Before the release of their
second album, Curanderos had only been invited once to
participate in LBE sponsored festivals. To date,
Curanderos has played a record seven times for the
magazineÆs high-profile Las Noches Del Dragon
showcases. The Cu, as they are affectionately called
by their fans, was declared ôBest Latin Alternative
               Band of 2000ö (Critic's Choice) by MundoRockero.com
and as the Best Latin Alternative Band of 2001 by the
               LA Music Awards.

Combining cosmic guitar noise, Flamenco strummed power
chords, and soaring melodies, Curanderos mixes a wide
spectrum of influences from 80Æs new wave to 90Æs
power rock to modern British-Pop. Curanderos features
the quirky lead vocals of Mario Lomar and hypnotic
ôPsychelatinö guitar style of Larrhy Ruiz. The band is
complimented by the melodic Rick Lomar on bass and the
               hard-hitting Diego Palacios on drums.

Curanderos has performed at some of CaliforniaÆs best
venues including: House of Blues, The Roxy, Key Club,
El Rey Theater, Dragonfly, Opium Den, Troubadour,
Coconut Teazer, Whiskey, Hard Rock CafΘ, Universal
City Walk, Universal Amphitheater, Weingart Stadium
(ELACC), and JC Fandango (Anaheim). Curanderos
participated in ôSoccer Rock Festival 99ö and
headlined ôCollege Fest 99ö in Rosarito, Mexico. The
band has shared the stage with internationally
renowned Latin Alternative acts such as Mikel
Erentxun, Babasonicos, Puya, Duncan Dhu, La Lupita,
Victimas Del Dr. Cerebro, and La Oreja de Van Gogh
among others. Curanderos has been featured on such
magazines as La Banda Elastica, Al Borde!, Boca,
Retila and the nationÆs most important Spanish
               language newspaper La Opinion.

With the international release of their fourth
production ôEvolucion Showö in January of 2004,
CuranderosÆ goal is to showcase their music on a
               global scale.
               ------------------------------------------------------
Curanderos.

discos Music Exchange (Glendale, California), ôEl EP

Flamenco, y melodφas emocionantes, Curanderos crea
m·sica con sabor a Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins y
Santana.
               mel≤dicos Ricardo Lomar (Bajo/Voz) y Diego Palacios
               (Baterias).

Babasonicos, Puya, Duncan Dhu, La Lupita, Victimas Del
Dr. Cerebro, Circo, La Oreja de Van Gogh, ademas de
los mejores exponentes del rock angelino. Curanderos

reciente material discografico "Evolucion Show", el
