The first release on Boltfish Recordings by Statskcartsa, based on tracks made
in the summer of 2005, plus a Statskcartsa remix of CHEjU's 'Pachinko' as a
bonus track.
Also contains remixes by CHEjU, MINT and Greg Haines.
As Statskcartsa, Greg Haines has a chance to exercise his more electronic,
beat-driven tendencies, whilst still keeping a strong organic presence
throughout. Sometimes laid bare, and sometimes processed beyond recognition,
acoustic instrumentation forms the backbone and starting point of most of GregÆs
work as Statskcartsa. It is not music to be over scrutinised (although you are
welcome to), but music to enjoy. Smile.
Under his birth name, Greg composes modern classical music in a minimal context.
As well as appearances on numerous upcoming compilations, his debut album will
be released in 2006. Look out for the first ever Miasmah CD compilation, where
Greg will premiere an edit of his piece, ôThe Tired Diaryö.
As Pirouette, Greg explores a more avant-garde field, experimenting with
texture, repetition and the listeners relationship to sound. As well as planned
releases and events, a CDR of his recent experiment with broken vinyl,
ôNurmarlovicenwithö, is available from his website.
A project is also planned with Yair Etziony, one half of Faction and a luminary
in the Israeli music scene.
Greg lives and works in Berkshire, England û Famous for its military base and
mental asylum. Greg is in neither.
