Release Notes:
On her second CD, vocalist Megan Fanning is backed
by a crΦme de la creme of Vancouver jazz musicians
- including Juno award winners, Tom Keenlyside and
Brad Turner and renowned pianist, Miles Black just
to mention a few. It also marks her debut as a
songwriter. The Latin ballad "I Close My Eyes" was
composed by Fanning and Keenlyside, with Spanish
translation by Paperboys' founder, Tom Landa.
"Under the Influence of You" was co-written with
Rico Renz, while the 30s sounding "Wonder" was
composed by Fanning alone. In addition, Influence
includes a debut composition by one of Fanning's
fellow soccer moms, Marian Ma - the Joni
Mitchellesque "Straight of Georgia." Along the way,
Fanning offers up tasty covers of "Baby It's Cold
Outside," "Ain't Nobody's Business," and "Cheek to
Cheek," among others.
