the loving care and delicacy of "this phrase appeals to you"
can be destroyed with a single breath. acoustic whimsy flits
like an imaginary firefly in the air, holding out as long as
it can against the abrasive electric cannons that lurk beneath
the treeline. this virtual UK all-star team of joincey, andy &
mikarla jarvis, m. delaney, and andy robbins come forth in
spectacular fashion. from the optimistic, yet frightened cello
bursts of "white mice & stinkbombs//beaters & dogs" to the
spectacular vocals, sung in japanese by m. jarvis, on "yume" -
there is little doubt that "this phrase appeals to you" is
awash in brilliant incandescence. sit down and let sculptress
hold you in their stunning embrace.
