Release Notes:
Philadelphia rockers Fire in the Radio have just
released their third album, Monuments, out today on
Wednesday Records. To keep the celebrations going on
their release day, the band have also shared a making-of
video.
In the making-of clip, guitarist and vocalist Jonathan
Miller says the album's concept was inspired by the
image that would serve as its cover art, featuring the
silhouettes of people watching fireworks on the Fourth
of July.
"It was also a reminder that things like the Fourth of
July, things that have become symbols of our monuments,
have faded, they've detracted in their meaning," Miller
says. "People, they can be their own monument, they
don't need to look at these monuments to remind them
what's important, they can be their own choice of
change."
The album was produced and engineered by Jesse Gander,
the Vancouver engineer who's worked with acts like
Japandroids, White Lung, the Pack A.D., Needles//Pins
and Woolworm.
