The latest release from Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes NAHS
to the label for his debut single. The Argentinean artist began
the year with a stand out release on Soundteller Records.
Remixed by Matias Chilano and Fabri Lopez it put the Buenos
Aires resident firmly in the minds of progressive music fans.
Now embarking on just his second official single, NAHS lands on
Dopamine While with 'Green Jungle' alongside remixes from Analog
Jungs, Nishan Lee and Pedro Capelossi.
Beginning with the original mix NAHS continues to show he's a
rising star in the world of progressive house. Deep and
pulsating from the outset, waves of undulating bass power the
foundation, while clattering percussion and wispy effects
surround the framework. Muted tones add a luminous glow before
eventually melting down into a vocal led break. Mysterious and
compelling, the ghostly wails elevate mood across the
centrepiece, before smoothly segueing into a spiritual finale.
The first interpretation of 'Green Jungle' is provided by Analog
Jungs who make their label debut. Based in Cordoba, the
Argentinean duo have become favourites of progressive music
tastemaker Hernan Cattaneo, while showcasing their music on Nick
Warren's The Soundgarden and Antrim's Or Two Strangers. Now
following a remix for Clubsonica, Analog Jungs deliver a
stunning take on 'Green Jungle'. Anchored by a warm, rippling
groove and detailed percussion, there's a smooth yet electric
mood from the outset. Emotion and flow are at a premium, with
vocal fragments, aquatic arps and waning tones converging for a
cinematic style break, before a quick and timely build ushers in
a purring finale.
Providing the second interpretation of 'Green Jungle' is one of
Sri Lanka's finest Nishan Lee. Asymmetric Recordings, Juicebox
Music, Movement Recordings and Strange Town Recordings have
played host to Nishan's unique take on progressive music, and he
now makes his Dopamine White debut in style with a superb remix
here. The infectious energy which made the original so
compelling translates quite well, albeit in a darker, more
techno inspired context. A punishing low end, electric lines and
lively cadence make for a powerful hypnotic drive, while the
main break shifts mood with an eerie, processed take on the
vocal motif.
Rounding out the release and providing the third and final
interpretation of 'Green Jungle' is Pedro Capelossi. Hailing
from Brazil but now based in Barcelona Spain, Pedro has been a
fixture of the progressive music underground since February of
2018. Releases on Balkan Connection, Droid9, One Of A Kind and
Soundteller Records have made him one of the genre's top up and
comers. Now continuing that rising momentum Pedro provides a
groovy interpretation of 'Green Jungle'. Adding further variety
to the release, the Barcelona resident takes a deeper approach
with a spacious groove and resounding rhythms. A less distinct
take on the vocal theme draws you into its meditative qualities,
as dubbed out rhythms and redolent motifs merge in the ultimate
sonic marriage. An inspired interpretation from Pedro which caps
off another excellent release for Nikko.Z's Dopamine White.
