" From time to time I find something which is absolutely new
to me. In this case I never was aware of "Arkology" or "Ark
Music". Unfortunately the album comes only in a black cover
with a little red sticker which doesn't tell much, not even
the tracklist.
So, this is a minus point from the beginning as I would like
to know what I am listening to. Nethertheless "Skorpi Gad"
who is responsible for this album presents some nice dub
works, which reminds me of the 90s sound of Dub Organiser,
Earthquake and a little pinch of Aba Shanti, digital style.
Side A has 6 songs, one of them, a spherical slowmotion dub,
comes in two versions. The other tunes are flowing with
grooving riddims (some steppers), melodical guitars, driving
basses and skanking keyboards. All tunes very nice and easy
to listen to. Like the album title says "positive" dubs. My
favourite is the last song, maybe called "Victory Dub", if
you see the album, check this song out.
The first song on the B side is a second version of the
"Victory Dub" (as I called it). Following is a short vocal
tune which in my opinion sounds very much like Earthquake. A
longer version comes right after. If you have the chance,
compare the two artists. A spaced out dub rock afterwards
reminds of the classical Jonah Dan's albums from the middle
90s. One chilled and one hard stepper mark the end of the
album.
All in all, this one is a nice album which lacks of one real
remarkable killer tune and also of infos. No track titles,
no contact, nothing. If you don't care about such infos,
this album is nice to have but no must."
