Known for his Zen-like DJ skills and productions that border on a
religious experience, Danny "Buddha" Morales is a star on the rise.
Morales began his career spinning electro and hip hop during rap
music's formative years. By 1987, a pivotal time in the evolution of
dance music worldwide, Morales found himself firmly installed as a
street promoter for one of New York's most influential Dance labels,
Cutting Records. There he developed a keen sense of what was
innovative within the genre. Soon, like most Dj's in our generation
he gravitated toward remixing and production working with such acts
like The Beloved, Sabrina Johnston, and Rochelle Fleming.
As a Dj his professional debut began at the legendary Palladium night
spot, later home to Junior Vasquez. This proved to be the catalyst he
needed. He then gravitated quickly to NYC clubs like The Red Zone,
Tilt, The World, Warsaw, Robots, & Studio Studio where he built a
strong following within New York's competitive market. Morales'
transition into a world class Dj/producer came when he was given the
opportunity along with musical co-hort and Dj Benji Candelario to
produce a weekly radio show at Choice FM London which was broadcasted
in both London and Birmingham simultaneously. For five years the
shows ratings grew beyond everyone's expectations. This led to
international bookings for Morales as a DJ in the European music
scene and within months he was jetting around the globe, showcasing
his cosmic skills and mix of garage, gospel, and progressive beats at
clubs like Hacienda, Camden Palace, Release The Pressure, Shingdig,
Garage City, Zap, Aqua Village, Music Factory, Ministry Of Sound,
Progress, Satellite, Feel Real, Groove Garden, Underground City, and
Metropolis. As a Dj Morales has traveled to England, Switzerland,
Italy, and Spain where he has rocked crowds in Ibiza. As a
producer/remixer/editor he's worked with Arnold Jarvis, Sheila Brody,
Kathy Sledge, Urban Cookie Collective, Michelle Weeks.
