│ │
│ Recalling Afrika Bambaataa, Mantronix, Drexciya, and Model 500 │
│ and the electro-techno-house axis infamously associated with │
│ Detroit, Chicago, and New York, the chrome-plated electro-funk │
│ of Plus Device's ôBody Heatö kicks an æ80s-styled drum machine │
│ groove into gear amidst bright synthesizer stabs while robotic │
│ voices chant ôYou give the kind of body heat I need.ö The │
│ four-track EP pairs three variations of the cyber-sexed title │
│ song with the equally punchy ôYou Know I'm V.I.P.ö Though the │
│ song tends towards the overly repetitive, one hopes the group │
│ (a duo whose identities aren't revealed) retains the sleek │
│ gleam on its upcoming full-length release. --textura.org │
