Returning to Particles, Rayomand presents his debut Feelings EP.
Remixes come from Argentinean and Croatian artists.
Welcoming up and coming artists to the Particles roster is
always an honour and with Rayomand, the Indian artist has
created quite a name for himself in 2019. January's Untold
Stories for Submarine Vibes and June's Perspectives for
Gentleman Lounge Records began the story, while a remix of
Chihaka's The Awakening for Particles in October is now followed
a by a debut EP in the shape of Feelings. With both tracks mixed
by Khordad Edulji, Emotions flows with a rich mix of melodic
phases and sequences in a concise 5-minute offering. A heavy
beat provides the backbone for coruscating organic
instrumentation to play a major role as a pulsating bassline
adds cavernous depth. Deep house flavours permeate through
Destiny as atmospheric effects make their presence felt. Ethnic
instrumentation is again at the heart of the track as a
sustained bassline adds weight and emotion. A ticking percussive
line adds subtle urgency as Rayomand's work evolves with delayed
riff and side-chained pads adding character over the 6-minute
timeframe.
Francis Di Rosa and Juan Cruz Dangelo have been regular
contributors to the underground dance scene with their Soulkeys
production moniker. From their Buenos Aries home, the duo has
found themselves signed to a host of high-profile imprints that
include the likes of Aethereal, Beat Boutique and Nicholas Van
Orton's Balkan Connection South America. A single remix of Sam
Heyman's Altair represents the Soulkeys contribution to the
Particles roster as they now follow up with a distinctive
Melodic Techno reworking of Emotion that builds on the rich
instrumentation of Rayomand's original by adding a swathe of new
production material. A new grooved bassline and ticking
percussive groove provide the backdrop while textured pads and
delayed riff build up the sonic space with open-filtered
intensity. Rising and falling with ease, the result is a dark
and brooding affair from the Argentinean pair.
Verche is no stranger to success through a double century of
production credits to his name. With a back-catalogue that reads
like a 'Who's Who' of leading underground imprints, the
Croatian's work for Renaissance, Hope and JOOF have seen him
firmly sat at the industry's top table. Moreover, Rapid Eye
Movement saw him debut on John Digweed's Bedrock as part of his
Last Night At Output compilation in May 2019. Now returning
after a 7-year hiatus since remixing Exoplanet's The Planetarium
in early 2013, the Verche remix of Destiny is full of rhythmic
dynamism as a rolling beat and shuffling hi-hats create the
perfect vehicle for Rayomand's melodies to flow mellifluously
across the 8-minute piece. Relentlessly driving forwards,
pausing for a stripped-back breakdown, a looped and delayed
motif carries forward into the second half with hypnotic power
and precision.
As Rayomand expresses his Feelings, remixes from Soulkeys and
Verche continue the emotional story.
