Release Notes:
Summer 2006 sees French electro techno purveyor, The Hacker, release his second
mix compilation 'A.N.D.N.O.Wà'.
The Hacker, real name Michel Amato, began his first escapades as a musician at
the tender age of 17, influenced by Cabaret Voltaire, Throbbing Gristle,
Einstⁿrzende Neubauten, Depeche Mode, New Order and Joy Division. He has since
gone on to become an accomplished DJ and producer, his collaborations with Miss
Kittin on DJ Hell's International Deejay Gigolo label, earning him considerable
plaudits worldwide.
On this latest release, 'A.N.D.N.O.Wà', his only second ever mix CD, The Hacker
brings together a somewhat eclectic mixture of both old and new techno rhythms
from artists including Miss Yeti, Ellen Allien, Perspects, Kiko and Mount Sims.
From the avant-garde electro of Liaisons Dangereuses to the EBM of Belgium's
Front 242 to the early Detroit Techno of UR's Model 500 (aka Juan Atkins) and
the minimal glitches of Sleep Archive's 'Elephant Child', The Hacker gives us
an insight into his current DJ sets, even sneaking in a nod to the '90s rave
scene via GTO.
