Theres something cinematic about Lewis Parkers hip-hop.
Like a warped Disney or a beats-driven Mercury Rev.If
you havent heard English Hip-Hop before this is
probably the best place to start. Up there with Roots
Manuva and New Flesh as the standard-bearers and
innovators of UK Hip-Hop.
Lewis Parker is something of a Massive Attack protege,
discovered by them after releasing an underground
limited edition 12" and then signed to their Melankolic
imprint. Parker's Star Wars inspired raps and Hip-Hop
soundscapes bring a fresh new trans-atlantic
perspective to the culture that already seems to be
acheiving favourable responses stateside.
